Kentaro Hayafune Senior Principal

Mr. Hayafune joined Polars in June 2026. Prior to Polaris, he worked at MUFG Bank for over 20 years. In 2013 and 2014, he worked in the Fund Investment Office at MUFG Bank, and since 2020, he was the Head of Fund Investment, where he led the bank fund investment activities across buyout fund, infrastructure fund, and other alternative asset strategies. Other than fund investment, he had over 17 years of experience in the structure finance that includes aircraft finance, lease finance, film finance, fund finance etc. Prior to MUFG bank, he worked in the Global Markets middle office at SBI Shinsei Bank (formerly The Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan). He holds BA of French from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and USCPA (Delaware).
